Magdalena's Monument Plaza, or Plaza Monumental, is a centerpoint of the pueblo that features an expansive area to sit and relax, with a large fountain in its center and a statue honoring slain politician Luis Donaldo Colosio.
Adjoining the plaza are a beautiful church, the mausoleum of Padre
Eusebio Kino and a shopping plaza that features a variety of Mexican
artwork, clothing and religious items.
Officially known as Magdalena de Kino, the pueblo was named in honor of Padre Francisco Eusebio Kino, and it is also his final resting place. Magdalena is a charming and rustic pueblo nestled among Sonoran hills, where you can shop for Mexican curios and other goods in a relaxed environment, away from the border.
