Magdalena de Kino

	Statue of Luis Donaldo Colosio in Plaza Monumental Officially known as Magdalena de Kino, named in honor of Padre Eusebio Francisco Kino, and it is also his final resting place. Magdalena is a charming and rustic pueblo nestled among Sonoran hills, where you can shop for Mexican curios and other goods in a relaxed environment, away from the border. Magdalena has a rich local history, beautiful churches, a large plaza and several other interesting and historical sites to visit and photograph. It is also known for being the birthplace and resting place of Mexican presidential candidate Luis Donaldo Colosio, who was assassinated in 1994.
