| The Day of the Virgin Mary of Guadalupe Caborca, Sonora December 12, 2009 |
| Every year on December 12, hundreds of the faithful walk from Caborca to the Hill of the Virgin of Guadalupe, in the hills outside of Caborca, to honor and celebrate the Virgin Mary of Guadalupe. Along the route, volunteers hand out water and sandwiches to the walkers. When they arrive at the site, visitors visit the shrine of the Virgin, and there are a variety of activities for them to see - masses are celebrated at various times and local dancers perform traditional pre-hispanic dances. |
