Caborca, on the highway to Pitiquito.  

The small fishing village of
Desemboque (also part of Caborca) on
the coast of the Sea of Cortez is less than an hour's drive away.

Take a hiking tour to view ancient petroglyphs

View the fascinating stone etchings made thousands of years ago by the ancient
inhabitants.  Tours can be arranged through the Caborca Office of Conventions and
Visitors (
OCV Caborca), or with one of several companies offering tours that of the area
that originate in the United States.  Tour information can also be obtained at the front
desk of
Motel El Camino.
Visit historic Pueblo Viejo

This is a must-see for any visitor to Caborca.  The
church is on the site of the mission
La Purísima
Concepción de Nuestra Señora de Caborca, established
in 1693 by Jesuit Priest Eusebio Kino.  In addition to
being a religious center for the community over the
years, Pueblo Viejo has also been the site of burnings
and violence, to include a battle for the city fought in
1857 as residents defended the town against a group
of American aggressors.

Visit the Cerro de Nuestra Virgen de Guadalupe

This shrine features a painting of Mexico's patron saint and an interesting
collection of symbols of faith and gratitude to the Virgin of Guadalupe.

This cultural center run by the city of Caborca often
features art exhibits and other cultural events.

The Office of Conventions and Visitors (OCV) has all of the
latest information about tourist events and activities.

Catch a baseball game

From June to the first week of August, go to the municipal stadium and watch the
Caborca Rojos play against one of the other minor league teams in their division.  
Take a drive to Pitiquito

The pueblo of Pitiquito is a short drive from
Caborca, and well worth the trip.  Pitiquito has
one of the world's finest
leather works and
showroom, featuring a variety of leather goods.  
Pitiquito also has a lovely Kino mission church.
