The "hill of the Virgin" is a shrine to the Virgin of Guadalupe, Mexico's patron
saint. This sacred site is four miles outside of Caborca on state highway 003
(the highway to Puerto Peñasco).
The faithful come (many walking from Caborca) to climb the steps and
worship, pray, meditate and give thanks to the Virgin of Guadalupe.
Services are also held there on December 12.
