The "hill of the Virgin" is a shrine to the Virgin of Guadalupe, Mexico's patron saint.  This sacred site is four miles outside
of Caborca on state highway 003 (map).

The faithful come (many walking from Caborca) to climb the steps and worship, pray, meditate and give thanks to the Virgin of Guadalupe.

Services and celebrations are also held there on December 12, along with a festival that features traditional dance, food, and reverence to Virgin Mary of Guadalupe. More photos.
