See the Petroglyphs at Rancho Puerto Blanco
This tourist ranch, located just west of Caborca, has more than 6,000 petroglyphs, the greatest concentration of these ancient rock-art carvings in Latin America.

Virgin Hill (Cerro de Nuestra Virgen de Guadalupe)
Just down the road from Rancho Puerto Blanco, this shrine to the Virgin of Guadalupe is the location of a large festival every 12th of December.

See the Casa de la Cultura
This municipal cultural center features murals painted by Caborcan artist Nereo Galileo de la Peña Garcia. The Casa de la Cultura hosts a number of art exhibitions and other cultural events during the year, and has workshops for local artists in residence. More information and photos |

Office of Conventions and Visitors (OCV Caborca)
This tourism promotion office is located on highway 2, just west of the Quiroz y Mora overpass (the overpass is just west of the city cemetery). OCV provides a wealth of information for visitors, from brochures and other tourism materials to information about local activities and sites of interest in Caborca. |
Visit Pitiquito, Sonora
This charming town is located along highway 2, about five miles east of Caborca. Sites to visit include the Pieles Pitic leather factory, and the mission church.

Relax in the Plaza

Hike or Mountain Bike the Cerro Prieto
The "dark hill" is located in southwestern Caborca, and in addition to hiking and mountain biking, you can just park nearby to check out the ancient rock-art petroglyphs.
